Required Skill Set
Strong experience in Firewall Rule Review and Firewall Governance processes.
Ability to perform security risk assessments for firewall rules and network connectivity requests.
Expertise in evaluating source/destination IPs, ports, protocols, services, and NAT requirements.
Thorough understanding of the Principle of Least Privilege and network security best practices.
Strong knowledge of network architecture and firewall connectivity design.
Experience with LAN, WAN, DMZ, network segmentation, and cloud connectivity.
Understanding of Site-to-Site VPN, Remote Access VPN, and third-party/vendor connectivity.
Familiarity with key network components including Firewalls, Routers, Switches, Load Balancers, Proxy Servers, IDS/IPS, WAFs, and VPN Gateways.
Proficiency in IPv4/IPv6 addressing, subnetting, CIDR notation, NAT/PAT, and routing concepts.
Strong knowledge of common TCP/UDP ports and protocols such as HTTP, HTTPS, SSH, SFTP, DNS, SMTP, LDAP, RDP, and database ports.
Ability to analyze end-to-end network traffic flows and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
Experience reviewing firewall changes and conducting impact and security assessments.
Knowledge of change management processes, compliance requirements, and security standards.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills
