Job Description:
Sharing the JD: Spearhead developer documentation strategy aligned with developer goals and industry best practices to deliver success. Author and publish high-impact content addressing the needs of the developer audience. Design content standards and follow templates to ensure consistency in the documentation. Enhance documentation discovery and overall developer experience through SEO and related tools. Partner with globally distributed teams to document new platform features and updates. Identify gaps in documentation through regular feedback from developers, community, support functions, partners, and platform ecosystem team. Drive enhancements to developer documentation based on developer feedback using an agile methodology. Contribute to the overall product strategy and roadmap. Leverage reports to track developer behaviors, align stakeholders through regular updates, and adjust your execution plan. Typical day in the role: Gather product knowledge for self-sufficiency. Analysis- Gather specific information regarding the product from product requisite, team meetings, product specifications, interviews with subject-matter experts, and prepare the content as per the audience. Design- Design the document or content by using proper layout, format, and style. Develop content- Create, update the developer documentation as per Microsoft’s standards and guidelines. Include engaging visual elements. Ensure that the graphics are of high resolution, effective in size, complements the text, appropriately located, communicate important information, and follow the style of other graphics. Proofread- Test the document as per the requirements and the features. Work with Microsoft PMs, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure that the technical content in documentation is concise, clear, complete, and accurate. Create conceptual documentation and API reference pages for methods and resources related to Microsoft Graph APIs. Attend meetings, for example, feature walkthroughs, demo, team meetings, and some organization meetings that affect the project. Write a document in Markdown and submit a pull request in GitHub. Get the pull requests to pass all automated validation. Edit the current content to meet the relevant standards and maximize clarity. Ensure project proceed according to schedules established by the Microsoft PM. Some projects or deliverables may change, be canceled, or be added.
Candidate Requirements:
Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience) 10+ years.
Can install, set up, and test products to validate docs.
Has the ability to serve as a user advocate providing quality and usability feedback.
Is experienced in topic-based writing.
Is experienced with Scrum or Agile development environments.
Has experience or knowledge in developing videos, chatbots, mobile documentation, or in-product documentation.
