Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Security Engineer with a strong engineering background to join our innovative team. The ideal candidate will be a security-minded engineer capable of architecting and building security focused applications and solutions. As a Security Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in implementing security control for the vendors where FK is sharing data with.
Key Responsibilities:
Application Security Reviews:
● Evaluate the architecture, design, and security controls of third-party software, SaaS platforms, and APIs processing the company's data.
● Review and validate vendor penetration testing reports, SAST/DAST results, and bug bounty findings to ensure remediation of critical vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10).
● Assess vendor secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC) practices, secure coding standards, and third-party library management (Software Composition Analysis).
Platform & Infrastructure Security Reviews:
● Conduct in-depth reviews of vendor cloud hosting environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), analyzing network configurations, IAM roles, and tenant isolation protocols.
● Assess the security posture of vendor containerized environments (Kubernetes, Docker) and underlying server infrastructure.
● Ensure vendors enforce appropriate endpoint protection, logging, monitoring, and incident response capabilities.
Process Flow & Data Architecture Reviews:
● Analyze complex data flow diagrams (DFDs) and architectural blueprints to understand exactly how our data is ingested, processed, stored, and transmitted by the vendor.
● Evaluate encryption standards (at rest and in transit), cryptographic key management practices, and logical access controls across the entire data lifecycle.
Vendor Risk Management & Collaboration:
● Partner directly with vendor engineering and security teams to design mitigation strategies and track the remediation of identified security gaps.
● Establish continuous monitoring processes for critical vendors to track emerging threats, breaches, or infrastructure changes that could alter their risk profile.
Responsibilities
Qualifications/Requirements:
Experience: 4+ years in Information Security, with direct experience in Application Security, Cloud Security Architecture, or Technical Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM).
Technical Knowledge:
● Deep understanding of modern web application architectures, APIs (REST, GraphQL), microservices, and cloud-native technologies.
● Strong grasp of common attack vectors and threat modeling methodologies (e.g., STRIDE).
● Familiarity with cloud security posture management and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) security concepts.
Frameworks & Compliance:
Working knowledge of industry-standard security frameworks and data protection mandates (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST CSF, GDPR/CCPA).
Soft Skills:
Exceptional communication, diplomacy, and negotiation skills. You must be able to firmly hold your ground with external vendors regarding security requirements while collaboratively finding secure solutions that enable business objectives.
