We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Technical Lead to oversee the design, development, and maintenance of mainframe applications. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership, ensure system reliability, and collaborate with teams to optimize mainframe performance. • Provide on-call technical support for applications and systems for Critical P1 Incidents • Maintain systems documentation • Lead technical discussions and training of systems level teams • Experience with mainframe IBM zOS systems • Knowledge and experience with systems level support of DB2 and CICS • Experience with mainframe environment such as TSO, dasd and virtual tape storage, Sysplex, mainframe network (understanding connectivity and IP sockets, proxies, SSL, and general packet transport) • Support of installation and upgrade of mainframe third party tools such as CA Endevor, CA7 Scheduler, IBM utilities • Support and installation with applying IBM RSU Maintenance and HIPER Maintenance concepts • Analytical skills for problem solving, and ability to think creatively for solutions/ideas with a continuous improvement mind set • Excellent communication and presentation skills required • Ability to organize tasks and react to shifting priorities required • Ability to identify, recommend and resolve solutions to problems is required Key Responsibilities: • Lead and mentor a team of mainframe developers and engineers. • Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2. • Ensure system performance, scalability, and security. • Troubleshoot and resolve complex mainframe issues. • Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements. • Implement best practices for mainframe development and maintenance. • Manage system upgrades, patches, and migrations. • Provide technical guidance for project planning and execution. • Stay updated on mainframe technologies and industry trends. Required Qualifications: • 5+ years of experience in mainframe development and administration. • Strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM. • Experience with mainframe performance tuning and optimization. • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. • Strong leadership and communication abilities. Preferred Qualifications: • Certifications in mainframe technologies or system administration. • Knowledge of ITIL processes and incident management.
